(A017)

Resolved, the House of Bishops concurring, That Article II, Section 1, of the Constitution be amended as follows:

Sec 1. In every Diocese the Bishop , or the Bishop Coadjutor or Suffragan Bishop shall be chosen agreeably to rules prescribed by the Convention of that Diocese. Bishops of Missionary Dioceses shall be chosen in accordance with the Canons of the General Convention. elected in accordance with the Constitution and Canons of the Diocese and the provisions of the Constitution and Canons of this Church.

Proposed Amendment:

Add following "Canons of this Church": ; and be it further Resolved, That a copy of this amendment be sent to the Secretary of the Convention of every diocese, to be made known to the Diocesan Convention at its next meeting.

Committee No. 4 on Constitution presented its Report #2 on Resolution A017 (First Reading, Const II.1 Episcopal Election Process) and moved adoption with amendment.

The Committee amended its report to recommend rejection.

A vote was taken on A017.
