Resolved, That the Executive Council, meeting in Chicago, Illinois, from October 15-17, 2013, calls upon President Obama and the Congress of the United States to quickly pass and approve legislation to repair and restore the Voting Rights Act; and be it further Resolved, That the Executive Council encourages Episcopalians and especially General Convention deputies and members of Committees, Commissions, Agencies, and Boards to contact their congressional representatives to urge them to immediately develop legislation that will restore and ensure the protection of equal voting rights for all Americans. |
