The House of Bishops Committee on Stewardship and Development presented its Report #5 on Resolution D014 (Reaffirm Financial Support for Seminaries) and moved adoption with amendment.

Original Text of Resolution:

(D014)

Resolved, the House of Deputies concurring, That the 75th General Convention reaffirm the commitment of The Episcopal Church to the policy of funding the Seminaries of the Church. Each congregation of the several dioceses within the fifty states of the United States and the Convocation of the American Churches in Europe shall give annually at least 1% of their net disposable budgeted income to one or more of the Seminaries of the Church; and be it further

Resolved, That the Presiding Bishop and each diocesan Ecclesiastical Authority jointly inform every congregation of their respective diocese of this policy and develop a procedure for each congregation of the diocese to participate in this funding commitment; and be it further

Resolved, That each Seminary of the Church submit an annual report of receipts from this 1% initiative and the application thereof to the Standing Commission on Ministry Development, which will report the results thereof to the 76th General Convention.

Resolved, That Eeach congregation of the several dioceses within the fifty states of the United States and the Convocation of the American Churches in Europe of The Episcopal Church shall give annually at least 1% of their net disposable budgeted income to one or more of the Seminaries of the Church; and be it further

Resolved, That the Presiding Bishopand each diocesanEcclesiastical Authority jointlyinform every congregation of their respective dioceseunder its jurisdiction of this policy and develop a procedurestrongly encourage foreach congregation of the dioceseto participate in this funding commitment; and be it further

Resolved, That the Executive Council and the Committee on the State of the Church be requested to restore a specific line item to the Parochial Report asking each congregation to report the financial support it has provided to Seminaries of the Church that year; and be it further

Resolved, That each Seminary of the Church submit an annual report of receipts from this 1% initiative and the application thereof to the Standing Commission on Ministry Development, which will report the results thereof to the 76th General Convention; and be it further

Resolved, That the 75th General Convention of The Episcopal Church express its gratitude for those congregations that are regularly giving 1% of their net disposable budgeted income to support our seminaries.
