Resolved, That Article I, Section 2, of the Constitution be amended as follows:

All Bishops of this Church, except any excluded by canon or under the Rules of the House, shall have seat and voice in the House of Bishops. Each Bishop of this Church having jurisdiction, Bishop Coadjutor, Bishop Suffragan, Assistant Bishop, and every bishop holding an office created by General Convention shall have a vote in the House of Bishops. A majority of all Bishops entitled to vote shall be necessary to constitute a quorum for transaction of business.;and be it further

Resolved, That this amendment to Article 1, Section 2, shall take effect immediately upon passage.

The House of Bishops Committee on Constitution presented its Report #8 on Resolution A020 (Amend Article I.2) and moved adoption of a substitute.

(A020)

Resolved, the House of Deputies concurring, That Article I, Section 2, of the Constitution be amended as follows:

Each Bishop of this Church having jurisdiction, every Bishop Coadjutor, every Suffragan Bishop, every Assistant Bishop, and every Bishop who by reason of advanced age or bodily infirmity, or who, under an election to an office created by the General Convention, or for reasons of mission strategy determined by action of the General Convention or the House of Bishops, has resigned a jurisdiction, shall have a seat, and a vote in the House of Bishops. A majority of all Bishops entitled to vote, exclusive of Bishops who have resigned their jurisdiction or positions, shall be necessary to constitute a quorum for the transaction of business.

All Bishops of this Church shall have seat and voice in the House of Bishops. Each Bishop of this Church having jurisdiction, Bishop Coadjutor, Bishop Suffragan, Assistant Bishop, and every Bishop holding an office created by General Convention shall have a vote in the House of Bishops. A majority of all Bishops entitled to vote shall be necessary to constitute a quorum for transaction of business.

Resolved, That a copy of this resolution shall be sent to the Secretary of the Convention of every Diocese to be made known to the Diocesan Convention at its next meeting, and be adopted by the General Convention at its next succeeding regular meeting.

The Bishop of Maryland moved to send the resolution back to the committee for refinement.
