Whereas, the Rt. Rev. A. Donald Davies, first Bishop of the Diocese of Fort Worth and formerly the fourth Bishop of Dallas will retire at the end of this calendar year, his having served in this House for 15 years; and
Whereas, Bishop Davies has exhibited unusually vigorous and splendid leadership at many levels of Church life, both diocesan and national, and particularly for his six years as Chairman of World Mission of the Executive Council; and
Whereas, he has always demonstrated grace, humor, wisdom and stead-fastness in the execution of his apostolic office; therefore be it
Resolved, That the House of Bishops goes on record as giving thanks to God for the life, work, and dedication of Bishop Davies and further to assure him and his lovely wife Mabel of our love and concern now and in the years to come.
The Bishop Coadjutor of Fort Worth moved B058 (A resolution of appreciation for the Bishop of Fort Worth).
Seconded by the Bishop Suffragan of Dallas.
