Northern Indiana Elects Klein

NEW YORK --- Presiding Bishop Lichtenberger has announced that the Very Rev. Walter Conrad Klein, dean of Nashota House, has accepted his election as bishop coadjutor of Northern Indiana.

Dean Klein, who was elected March 13, will succeed the Rt. Rev. Reginald Mallett, who is expected to retire in October.

A consecration date will not be set until a majority of consents to Dean Klein's election have been received by the Presiding Bishop from standing committees.

Dean Klein became head of Nashota House on July 1, 1959. Previously, he was professor of Old Testament literature and languages for nine years at Seabury-Western Theological Seminary.

Born in Brooklyn, N. Y., on May 28, 1904, he received his BA degree from Lehigh University and his BD from General Theological Seminary, New York City.
