Good Friday Offering Destined for Jerusalem

(ENS) Presiding Bishop Edmond Browning recently asked all Episcopalians to give to the ministries of the Anglican church in the Holy Land. In his Epiphany letter to all Episcopal parishes, Browning noted the history of the Good Friday Offering, which is sent to the Episcopal Church in Jerusalem and the Middle East, symbolizing unity with those who witness to Christ throughout that region. "This is the 75th anniversary of the inauguration of the Good Friday Offering as an institution of the Episcopal Church," he wrote. "The first offering by this name was taken up in 1922, near the end of the life of Presiding Bishop Daniel S. Tuttle." Funds collected are shared by the Dioceses of Jerusalem, Egypt and North Africa, Iran, and Cyprus and the Gulf. Offering materials are available through Episcopal Parish Services, P.O.
