Bishop Douglas Theuner of New Hampshire successfully underwent quadruple bypass surgery recently. He returned home four days after surgery and is recuperating at an excellent rate according to diocesan staff. Theuner is scheduled to undergo further surgery on his right leg in mid-august.

Bishop Geralyn Wolfe of Rhode Island underwent a successful surgery for breast cancer and is recovering well. She will begin chemotherapy for cancer in the lymph nodes in August.

The Rev. Linda Strohmier, national evangelism coordinator for the Episcopal Church, announced July 18 that she is resigning from her position to become missioner of the Bergen Episcopal Area Ministry. Strohmier will serve the four-parish cluster located in Paramus, Maywood, Rochelle Park and Fair Lawn in Bergen County, New Jersey, which is part of the Diocese of Newark. "The prospect is challenging, exciting, and very much a 'fit' with my skills and experience," she said. "I am really looking forward to returning to hands-on parish ministry, where I believe I can be an effective priest and pastor." She said she expects to complete her work at the Episcopal Church Center in New York by the end of the summer.
