Virginia Holds Job Fair and Conference to Support Small Congregations

In an effort to support small congregations looking for clergy, the Diocese of Virginia sponsored a job fair and conference in Richmond, the first of its kind in any Episcopal diocese. Eight priests who expressed interest in small church ministry, selected from 60 applicants nationwide, attended the two-day event and were interviewed by search committees. "It was a real celebration of what makes small parishes special and important to the life of the church," said the Rev. F. Clayton Matthews, diocesan executive for ministry.
