CAMBRIDGE, MASSACHUSETTS: Faith and the second Millennium Development Goal -- Boston Theological Institute, Episcopal Divinity School (EDS) and Bread for the World Institute have collaborated to present a series of lectures on Faith and the Millennium Development Goals. Sabina Alkire, Global Equity Initiative, Harvard University, author, continues the series on November 3, 7-8:30 p.m. at Sherrill Hall, Episcopal Divinity School, with "Improve Maternal Health."

Other lectures include "Combat HIV/AIDS, Malaria and other Diseases" with Douglas Huber, All-Africa AIDS Initiative of the Council of Anglican Provinces in Africa (CAPA) on November 10 and "Ensure Environmental Sustainability" with Richard Parker, Shorenstein Center, Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University, on November 17.

SEWANEE, TENNESSEE: The 2005 DuBose Lecture series -- Exploration of the theological and practical issues involved in contemporary church architecture, building, and renovation in the context of serious biblical and historical reflection will be the focus of the 2005 DuBose Lecture series, November 3-4, at the University of the South, Sewanee, Tennessee. The 2005 DuBose Lecture series is sponsored by the University's School of Theology, and is free and open to the public.

A free-will offering will benefit Multifaith Works AIDS Care Teams and Walk in Love, the diocesan AIDS ministry.

FORT WASHINGTON, PENNSYLVANIA: St. Thomas' Church Theologian-in-Residence for 2005 -- St. Thomas' Church, Whitemarsh, has selected the Rev. Dr. Ian Bradley from St. Andrew's University, Scotland, as its Theologian-in-Residence for 2005. Bradley is Reader in Practical Theology and Church History at St. Andrew's and a minister in the Church of Scotland and will visit from November 6-9. He is the author of more than 30 books, including four books on Celtic Christianity, and is a leading expert in the field.

MAGGIE VALLEY, NORTH CAROLINA: Icon writing workshop -- Master Iconographer Xenia Pokrovsky will lead an intensive icon writing instruction workshop November 6-12, at the Living Waters Catholic Reflection Center, 103 Living Waters Lane.

NEW YORK CITY: Louisiana's bishop set to bring message of hope and gratitude -- The Rt. Rev. Charles E. Jenkins, Bishop of the Diocese of Louisiana, will preach on November 6 at St. Thomas Church Fifth Avenue's 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. services. He will also speak informally with parishioners at the coffee hour following the 11 a.m. service. He is expected to bring news of the relief efforts within his diocese, which was devastated by Hurricane Katrina.

PORTLAND, OREGON: Via Media series continues-- The via media DVD and small-group exploration of Anglican faith continues at Saints Peter and Paul Episcopal Church located at 8147 SE Pine St. on November 6. Via media has been invaluable both in presenting life and faith in positive, dynamic ways to potential newcomers, and in creating a safe and warm space for present members to discuss issues close to their hearts. The session will run through November 20.

WASHINGTON, DC: State Day honors Mississippi -- The state of Mississippi will be honored at the November 6, 11 a.m. service at Washington National Cathedral. As part of its national ministry, Washington National Cathedral has for many years individually honored each state in the union. During worship services, the government and people of that state are prayed for.

WILMINGTON, DELAWARE: Season of Creation -- The Episcopal Church of Saints Andrew and Matthew will continue its Season of Creation series on November 6 under the theme "Instruments for Healing: Renewing our Vision and Mission." The Season of Creation, series features a creative blend of contemporary liturgy and readings, together with music, dance and other art forms celebrating the majesty of God's creation and humanity's destiny within it, experiencing our kinship with all creatures, and committing ourselves to becoming instruments for the healing of Planet Earth.
