Ecuador Central begins search for bishop coadjutor
Episcopal News Service. August 8, 2008 [080808-01]
The Diocese of Ecuador Central, one of the dioceses of Province IX of the Episcopal Church has begun the search process for a new bishop coadjutor. The Rt. Rev. Wilfrido Ramos Orench was appointed by the House of Bishops of The Episcopal Church to serve as diocesan bishop. The election will be held at some time in the fall of 2008.
Ramos Orench has worked tirelessly to energize and promote healing in a diocese that was deeply affected by the deposition of its former bishop in March of 2004.
"I understand the office and ministry of a bishop essentially as one of service to God and the Church. A bishop is called to be a servant to promote and further the mission of God in the world," wrote Ramos Orench in the diocesan profile.
Further enquiries and requests for profiles may be addressed to: The Rev. Canónigo Marco Mejía M., Presidente del Comité de Búsqueda, c/o Centro Diocesano, Calle Sarmiento N39-54 y Portete, Quito, ECUADOR
Deadline for submission of applications is September 9.
