ALASKA: Bishop nominee slate grows by one

The Rev. Dr. Greg Kimura, president and chief executive officer of the Alaska Humanities Forum, has been added to the slate of bishop nominees for the Diocese of Alaska.

Daniel Hall said the diocesan bishop search committee had certified the petition nominations of Kimura, bringing to five the total number of nominees. The nominating process closed Feb. 12, said Hall, chair of the search committee.

The election will take place during an April 8-11 convention at the Meier Lake Conference Center in Wasilla, Alaska. The consecration is set for Sept. 4 at the Dena'ina Convention Center in Anchorage.

Kimura, 41, serves congregations as a supply priest in the Episcopal Diocese of Alaska and the Evangelical Lutheran Synod of Alaska.
