Three Episcopal bishops participated in a service on July 5 when Steven Tsosie Plummer became the first Navajo ordained to the office of deacon in the Episcopal Church at Good Shepherd Mission, Fort Defiance, Ariz. At the door of the mission following the service are, left to right, Suffragan Bishop Harold S. Jones of South Dakota, a Sioux Indian who preached; Mr. Plummer; Bishop Joseph M.
