[Three Religions Declare T...] — Three Religions Declare Their Ties to Jerusalem. An ultra-orthodox Jew crosses the rooftops above the Old City in Jerusalem, with the dome of the Muslim mosque behind him. The number of holy sites in Jerusalem, and especially the area of the Old City, gives the city a revered place in Judaism, Christianity and Islam. Leaders from all three religions joined in a statement from Jordan's Royal Institute for Interfaith Studies opposing any exclusive claim on the city by a single religion.
