Every year, the offering taken at Good Friday services at Episcopal Churches is contributed to the work of the Anglican
Communion in the Holy Land through the Episcopal Church in Jerusalem and
the Middle East. Hospitals, orphanages, schools serving all the people
of the lands sacred to three faiths are among the many beneficiaries.
The raging civil war in Lebanon this year has placed special pressure on
medical and refugee facilities throughout the region. Here, young victims of war learn to walk again through rehabilitation programs in
Jerusalem hospitals as American Church offerings help to ease the pain
in a land where "love falls victim to hate." Order forms for materials,
including posters and bulletin inserts about the Episcopal Church in
Jerusalem and the Middle East have been mailed now to all parishes.
