Presiding Bishop's Fund Poster. Christian Servanthood is one of the major themes of the 1979 offering
materials for the Presiding Bishop's Fund for World Relief. A beige and black poster
(above) and matching Sunday bulletin use a detail from Ford Maddox Brown's painting
"Jesus Washing Peter's Feet" and a verse from St. John's gospel: "I have given you
an example, that you should do as I have done." Many parishes will observe the
mid-Lenten World Relief Octave (Mar. 18-25, 1979), although materials are undated
and may be used at any time throughout the year. Order forms for materials - 15
pieces in all - were mailed to all parishes, diocesan offices and related networks in
