The Rev. Samir Jamil Habiby, Garden Grove, Calif., has been appointed
Executive Director of the Presiding Bishop's Fund for World Relief. A native of Haifa and
a Palestinian refugee in the 1940s, Fr. Habiby will bring to his new post a variety of
experience as a parish priest, director of refugee resettlement efforts, and fund raising.
He has been rector of the Episcopal Parish Church of St. Anselm of Canterbury in the
Diocese of Los Angeles since 1970.
