More than 100 church persons, diplomats and artists joined the
Presiding Bishop of the Episcopal Church recently in a tribute to the sculptor of
the massive 12 by 4-foot abstract-design bronze doors that will be mounted this
spring on the Episcopal Church of St. Paul's Within-the-Walls, Rome. The artists
and architects, the clergy and lay Anglican and Roman Catholic leaders, and
persons from the United States and Italian diplomatic corps who attended the New
York City reception were able to view half-scale photographs of the doors (above).
