Diocesan Press Service

[Sunday, October 20, found...]
Sunday, October 20, found the Rev. Eugene Monick, vicar of St. Clement's Church, New York City, out on West 46th Street among neighbors and parishioners, rather than in the pulpit. On that Sunday, the Church held an outdoor service and provided an opportunity for candidates running for the United States House of Representatives in the district to address the voters. After each candidate presented his views on such issues as Vietnam, urban renewal and the job of Congressman, the audience had an opportunity to question them. When asked why the Church had sponsored such an event, the Rev. Mr. Monick replied that it was just being a good neighbor.
